Supporters Urge Detainment of Person Who Touched Ariana Grande

Devoted followers of the actress are calling for that a person who jumped a barrier and seized the actress during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.

A viral clip reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside photographers and charging at Grande while the actors proceeded down a yellow carpet accompanied by onlookers.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo immediately guided the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being led away of the event by event staff.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "let go after being detained", though court documents showed that he was scheduled to be present on the following morning. It is unknown if he was charged.

Pattern of Event Invasions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Troll Most Hated", has disrupted a performance. His Instagram feed contains videos of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney show in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last December.

"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is obviously a punishable act," wrote an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his actions.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" one Instagram user wrote.

Followers Express Concern Over the Star's Well-being

Many fans criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had discussed experiencing PTSD after a terrorist explosion at the end of her 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and wounding many.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" said a further message on Instagram.

A number of fans also faulted guards at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while some called for online networks to ban Mr Wen's videos.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In videos circulating online, Grande looked surprised when she was approached by the intruder. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed comforting her while Mr Wen was escorted away by staff.

Grande has not commented on the incident, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.

Many of supporters had assembled in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific premiere in a Singapore venue, including some who had queued for as long as a significant duration before it commenced.

The movie, to be premiered on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-part version of the popular stage musical Wicked, which revolves around the unlikely bond between two very different witches.

The production itself is a derivative of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink glittering gown at the event while Erivo, who portrays the Elphaba, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.

They were alongside cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful movie of the previous year in the UK, and scored 10 Oscar nominations, winning a pair for best costume and production design.
